A busy Autumn term

It’s only days now until the Christmas holidays are upon us after what has been a very successful term. We’ve held Core Subject cluster meetings, new to year 2 and 6 English and Maths sessions, writing moderations, English and Maths training days, not to mention inducting our largest yet cohort of NQTs and our first raft of Initial Teacher Trainees!

Along-side which our School to School Support team of Specialist Leaders of Education has grown and deployments to support local schools are well under-way. It really has been a busy few months! The New Year will see us continuing to interview for Initial Teacher Training places for September 2017, the continuation of our Sports Partnership programme, subject cluster meetings, English and Maths CPD and further Twilight meetings for our registered NQTs.

Our very successful Head Teachers’ Network meeting of last term will be held again in February, providing local Heads with a great opportunity to network, share information and practice and build links with other schools. If you would like more information about this, or any of our other on-going or up-coming events, simply e-mail our team at enquiries@connect-tsa.net.

New beginnings

Future teachers eagerly wait to start their training in local schools in September. Our new cohort of School Direct Teacher Trainees completed their induction at Lincoln University and the Keyworth Centre of Lincoln Teaching School Alliance last week. All 16 trainees will be based in schools local to Boston or Spalding. They have been shown their comprehensive training programme for the year ahead and started working on their own individual training plans with their school based mentors.

We can’t wait to get going with this fabulous bunch of trainees – our children are very lucky to have their future in the hands of such an enthusiastic and inspired generation of teachers. Roll on September!

Connect Launch

Alliance membership demonstrates an optimistic outlook in our local primary schools.

Headteachers from over 20 local schools visited Connect TSA at Staniland Academy on Friday 24th June to hear about the plans for supporting teachers and children next year. From training school direct ITT trainees, supporting NQTs and delivering CPD to subject leaders and teachers, Connect is offering a comprehensive programme designed to support teaching and learning in local schools.

Delivered by renowned and respected consultants as well as expert teachers, the professional development is available to schools as part of their membership to the Alliance.

Discussions held by the headteachers about future provision, were consistently positive and enthusiastic about the collaboration that is available locally.

We are looking forward to an exciting year ahead working with such a buoyant and enthusiastic group of schools.
