School Experience Programme
Spending time in the classroom is the only way to find out if teaching is the career for you, it is also an ideal way to strengthen your application for teacher training.
Taking part in our School Experience Programme gives you the chance to watch lessons, spend time in a working classroom, see and feel for yourself what it’s really like to be a teacher. The experience is invaluable to draw on in your application and subsequent interviews.
School Experience days are designed to let individuals experience some of the everyday tasks of modern teaching, to observe teachers and children and how they work together.
The School Experience Programme (SEP) is run by the National College for Teaching and Learning (NCTL) and through their portal, offers places in schools to anyone looking for that extra experience or indeed the support to take their first step into a classroom.
Who is it for?
• People considering a change of career
• People wondering if teaching is for them
• People wishing to gain a place on a PGCE course
